If you’re just learning about geocaching or have never heard of it and somehow stumbled across this page, here is a run down on what it is and how to get started.
What is it?
Geocaching is best described as a real world, outdoor treasure hunt or scavenger hunt game. Players use GPS to locate geocaches ( which are often but not limited to physical containers).
How do I play it?
Using GPS (this can be done using the official Ground Speak app on a smartphone or a hand held GPS device), players navigate to a geocache location. Find the container and sign the log. You’ve just found a geocache. Log the find online or in the app to track the geocaches you’ve found.
How do I join the fun?
You can start geocaching by going to geocaching.com and create an account for free. You an look online or download the official geocaching app (by Groundspeak) to see what geocaches are in your area.

Discover Your World
Since the game is played world wide, geocaching can often take you to places you’ve never been before. Sometimes in your own neighborhood. Use the official Groundspeek app (or licensed partner app such as Geooh Go or Cachely) or geocaching.com to see what geocaches are in your area.
